Shamefully overlooked in my last Bulletin, was the remarkable achievement by Lyn McMurray and Karen Myles of both having a Hole in One during our Pennant season. Congratulations, what a thrill it must have been.

The June Medal was won by Pat Clarke for Div 1, with Gwen Gray the r/up, Bev Moore came up trumps in Div 2 and Judy Andrews was r/up. A very chuffed Tina Lane won her first medal in Div 3, with Carol Post the r/up.

The first round of the Foursomes Knockout was postponed a week due to horrendous weather on the day, but now underway, with the final to be held on the 16th July, after the Salver, Bowl & Longmarkers Cup on the 9th July.

We welcome and thank a new sponsor – the Everglades Fishing Club, supporting the Single Par & 2BBB vs Par this month. Prior to proceedings getting underway, the original Opals surprised Patsy Ann Kentwell for her 50th birthday with a very funny speech delivered by Ann Koln, assisted ably by Troy who draped a feather boa with great aplomb.

Excitement over;  the captain announced Jane Moffat as winner in Div 1 scoring +2 on a countback to Cath Shannon, Heather Burrett won Div 2 on a countback to Judy Lawson with +3, and Ann Woods with yet another countback to Sue Mitchell with a square. Judy Lawson and Cath Shannon won the 2BBB with a very impressive +11. Sue Mitchell & Marg Coutts were r/up

.

The second inter-district matchplay between the Hunter region and the Central Coast was played at the Hunter Valley Golf Club on Wednesday 19th June. It is well represented by all clubs in both regions, and by all accounts, a most enjoyable day in terrific weather. The great news is the CCWGA team won the event 9-7, with the Everglades gals, Donna Mitchell, Ann Radford & Karen Myles very much contributing to the win.

As you are probably aware by now, Everglades has a new general manager. His name is Ross Seabrook and he has an extensive background in clubs and financial management. We look forward to meeting Ross.

To those of our members who aren’t up to ‘par’ at the moment, our thoughts are with you.
