Chivo goes 6 under on Wednesday

Posted on: 26 April

Highlight from Wednesday’s golf was a huge round from our Club Pro Darren Chivas.

The six under 62 gave him 42pts to win the scratch event and his handicap of 1 gave him 43pts to win A grade by 5 shots. Darren also won the afternoon “tenner” to top off a good day at the office!

For all of that it wasn’t the best score of the day. Young Kane Jellicoe (29)  continued a hot streak of form backing up last week’s 44pts with 45pts (that included two wipes!) to win D grade. B Grade went to Ian Foster (18) with 38pts and C Grade was a win for Wayne Hayward(24) who had 41pts. The 2B went to Kane Jellicoe & Lawrence Reid(11) with a very impressive 53pts.

We are now 6 rounds into the Autumn Cup and Tony Tully on 209pts is leading A Grade, Kevin Condren on 208pts is leading B grade, Jeff Andrew is topping C grade with 197pts and Jeff Gilholme leads D Grade with 207pts. Still 5 rounds to go, so anything is possible.

Scoring was more difficult on Friday with Bruce Shipton(9) taking A grade with 38pts, John Bowyer(13) won B grade with 37pts, Terry Kennedy(22) won C Grade with 38pts and Ron Papps(25) took out D Ggrade with 41pts. The teams event was won by Bruce Shipton, Bill O’Brien(24), Gordon Dickson(20) & Mike Hyland(16) with 88pts. Fun fact from Friday’s round was that there were two eagles on the 9th! John Bowyer and Wayne Dickerson both making 2 and getting 5pts for their efforts.

Great performance Darin. To finish 6 under around anywhere is to align the result with some of the great rounds that have ever been played anywhere. Congratulations from the time you first started as the pro at the Glades you have shown you are exceptional both as a exponent of the game and a good bloke
